A cold and blustery day at the Arsenal ground for the Nomads last home game of this year, the hardy supporters who attended were offered free mulled wine in appreciation for their support, courtesy of match sponsor Peterborough United Vice President Ros Whittome.
It was a one sided first half – as Saints had the best chances with home keeper Dean Carre keeping the Nomads in the game making some fine saves. The second half started similar; it wasn’t until Saints scored late on that Alderney started to create a few chances.
Good efforts just off target by Dante Walker and Jack Williams, and also a spectacular overhead kick by Matt Aldcroft nearly found the net from a corner. But late on an amazing strike by man of the match Liam Connor forced Saints keeper to make a great save it would definitely would have been goal of the season! More pressure from corners and goalmouth scrambles but the Nomads couldn’t break through.
